People have been sending me some emails kinda pissed that I put up Packer stuff on a Detroit sports blog, so I wanted to give everyone a bit of clarification into the reason why. As far as football goes, the U.P is barely part of the State of Michigan. Allegiance lies almost entirely with the Green Bay Packers and growing up up as a Lions fan in that green and gold vomit undoubtably shaped my life in one way or another. Mostly, it meant I got to get out of church early because the priest didn't want to miss Desmond Howard taking back a noon kickoff but there has been only one Yooper family that refused to adorn their car with packer flags, their home with packer mailboxes and their children with the name Brett. And that has been the Mason family. We are basically the Last of The Mohicans of Detroit Lions fans in the Upper Peninsula and I of course would be the Daniel Day Lewis of the group.
Anyway, better Packer plate, NFLMVP or VIKH8R?
PS - You think that's Brett Favre himself in that Toyota Sierra Minivan? Gotta be right? I don't think you can just roll into the Green Bay DMV and demand a Packer custom plate with NFLMVP on it. Like who the hell do you think you are? You could probably get shot for something like that.
