Great Minds Think Alike

Talked with BMOC today about his thoughts on rivalry weekend and to my surprise he's not going the Michigan State slappy route and predicting a 55-10 route by MSU. In fact on the count of 3 we both revealed our final score predictions and I had Michigan 31-30 and he had Michigan 29-28. My main thought is that if the game remains low scoring it favors MSU but I just don't think anyone in the nation can contain Denard to one, if not more big plays. Do I think he'll get away with that jump ball bullshit he pulled against ND and have a miraculous comeback? Hell no, but I think he'll get 3/4 yards per run attempt and then bust one, two, or even possibly three big runs that result in Michigan scores. Plus you have to take into account that Smith or Shaw could do the same. I'm also looking forward to seeing Devin Gardner under center and a few tricky plays that should free Denard up to get the ball in space.

Bottom line is we both agreed this one will be be close and a semi high scoring affair. Great minds think alike even if one of us went to UofM and the other went to Eastern/transferred to MSU. Boom Roasted!

PS - I google searched "House Divided" and this image came up and I almost crapped my pants in anticipation of a Northwestern/MSU love child. This kid is destined to be a genius with a drinking problem. And don't pretend you don't know where the respective genes are coming from.

Little Bro Gets New Threads

For everything retarded thing Mark Hollis does (the "situation" being on the sidelines last week), he backs it up with about 6 sweet things. The most recent being the Pro Combats. I'm 50-50 on the actual jerseys, but that doesn't even matter. It's about Michigan State stepping up as the "cool" school in the big ten. Ohio State had a strangle hold on this position the last decade, but MSU is straight backdooring them right now. Dantonio is a great recruiter to begin with, this will just make things unfair.

PS - I can't imagine anyone took my advice on BMOC's Locks, but I would make those same picks again this week. I was right, the games were just wrong Watch out this weekend as I will release my new picks, but with a new name to guarantee success. This new segment will be called Bloc's.

Double PS - I didn't post it because I thought it was common sense, but everyone should of made their money back on the lions. That shit was like stealing alittle kids tricycle (fred mccloud reference, keep up)

Pure Michigan vs Pure Michigan State

Braylon Makes Good on Promise & Sends 100 Cleveland Students to College

CBSSports.com reports that Edwards, who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2005, followed through with a promise he made four years ago through his foundation. In 2007, he promised 100 Cleveland students he'd pay for their college tuition -- a value of $1 million -- if they performed 15 hours of community service a year and kept a grade-point average of at least 2.5. Here's what Edwards tweeted: As the 2nd most hated man in Clev & a man of my word, today I will honor a promise made to 100 students in Cleveland years ago ... The last of my Advance 100 students will graduate from my program and head off to college on scholarships that I will provide them with. Guys enjoy and embrace your new beginnings and remember your promise to me, to reach back & help someone else along the way."

Big ups to Braylon for understanding the importance of education and being charitable enough to do something about it. Great gesture from UofM's greatest wideout. I wonder when the kids of Saginaw will get their check from Charles Rogers?

MSU Aircraft Carrier Game Could Be Played On Ship That Buried Osama Bin Laden At Sea

In case the prospect of the first-ever college basketball game on an aircraft carrier isn't intriguing enough for fans, the ship North Carolina and Michigan State will play on next November may be especially noteworthy. Mike Whalen of the Morale Entertainment Foundation told WRAL that the carrier that will host the event in San Diego will either be the USS Ronald Reagan or the USS Carl Vinson. Of course, the USS Carl Vinson is the ship the body of Osama bin Laden was brought to in order to be buried in the North Arabian sea. That choice of aircraft carriers would only heighten the patriotic atmosphere for a game that will be held on Veterans Day in front of a crowd of mostly military personnel.

If MSU can make this happen it would easily be the best thing they've ever been a part of. Playing on the ship that tossed Osama Bin Laden's ass overboard is more patriotic than transporting that little rink in Lake Placid into the heart of Red Square for some pond hockey. Might even look into getting Hacksaw Jim Duggan to officiate the whole damn thing.

He could be just what this game needs to amp up the fact we're playing a college basketball game on a boat that put cement shoes on the world's most wanted man. I say if you really wanna make a day of it, you float that sucker up the St. Lawerence River, through the great lakes, and park it infront of the Mighty Mackinac just for effect. Then sit back and watch Izzo make it rain pasties after the victory. America! Fuck yeah!

Bruce Pearl Fired by Tennessee

LATIMES - Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - The University of Tennessee has reportedly fired men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl. The Knoxville News Sentinel reported the news Monday. Pearl had been on the hot seat after the NCAA issued the school a letter of inquiry in September regarding potential recruiting violations. He also admitted to initially misleading NCAA investigators. In six seasons with the Volunteers, Pearl posted a record of 145-61 with six NCAA Tournament appearances. This year's squad opened with seven straight wins, but finished just 19-15 with a first-round loss to Michigan in the NCAA tourney.

Well, the writing was certainly on the wall even before Pearl and the Vols got woodshedded by the Wolverines. So frankly, I'm surprised they waited this long. The way the AD threw Pearl under the bus just a day before the NCAA tourney you could tell some major shake-ups were coming and personally this kinda seems like a desperate attempt by the AD to keep his own job. I think if you fire Pearl you fire the AD as well but that's just me. Anyway, it'll certainly be interesting to see if and when anyone takes a chance on Pearl. He definitely has the credentials, it's just a matter of can people get past his sleazeball, know-it-all persona. Hell, Sparty is probably ready to switch things up after there season melted down faster than a Japanese nuclear plant. Plus, you know they love dudes who play dress up. Match made in heaven?

PS - Izzo, you're always welcome in Ann Arbor. I'm sure Beilein would hook you up with an assistant's job or maybe some parent liaison bullshit where you just run back and forth to the concession stand and grab hotdogs for Tim Hardaway Sr.

This is how hard the Gators are gonna go down against MSU

Fast forward to the 1:00 mark and watch this trashdump of a co-ed get split in half by a stall door like she was a NYC bus.

What? No good?

Whoo Hoo! Spring Break Aspen Bitches!!!

Two Michigan State football players were arrested early Thursday morning after an incident at a bar in Aspen, Colo. According to officials at the Pitkin County Jail, Brian Linthicum was arrested for third-degree assault and eluding police and Max Bullough was charged with minor in possession of alcohol and eluding police. Michigan State students are on spring break this week. Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio was not immediately available for comment.

Linthicum, 23, will be a senior next season and is expected to be the Spartans' starting tight end. He caught 18 passes for 230 yards and a touchdown in 2010. Bullough, 19, played mostly on special teams while backing up All-America linebacker Greg Jones. The sophomore-to-be is expected to start at middle linebacker and had 21 tackles and one interception as a true freshman in 2010.

Fuckin Sparty. How dumb are you? Everybody knows you don't go on Spring Break to places like Colorado where people live and shit. You gotta head south to Cancun or Detroit where nobody cares if you wanna get Miguel Cabrera drunk.

"We gonna shock the world!"

Fuck yeah, big brother is back baby and we babysat the Spartan's asses all day Saturday. Just put them to bed early and then invited our hot girlfriend over to bang on their parents couch. Probably could've even got them to run and get us a beer by timing them. Ha, fuckin Sparty is pathetic. Now Kalin Lucas go to your room. It's fuckin time for Blue to go dancing.

Tom, Your Basketball Program, Woof. MSU gets Blown Out 72-52 by Lowly Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Tom Izzo said he was confused. Draymond Green said he was at rock-bottom. Delvon Roe said he was embarrassed. Derrick Nix said they got punked. "That was the worst performance of a team that I've coached since I've been at Michigan State," Izzo said. "As you can imagine, we are reeling."

What's wrong in East Lansing? For a team that had national title aspirations this season has been a catastrophic disaster. I keep hearing people say wait till the tournament, wait till the tournament, but shit if they don't right the ship real quick tournament time is gonna mean an incredibly embarrassing trip to the NIT.

PS - I think the real problem in East Lansing is that they let Tom Izzo take the Cavs job and thought they could just plug in Steve Mariucci with an Izzo mask and everything would be peaches.

Novak's Intensity Key to Michigan's Huge Win over Sparty

Novak was angry that day my friends. Like an old man trying to send soup back at a deli. And it was that anger that kept Michigan in this game early and kept them ahead down the stretch. It's awesome to see Michigan finally put it all together against Sparty. After starting 1-6 in the Big Ten a win like this is great to boost morale and convince some future big time recruits that choosing MSU over UofM is not automatic. Here's some thoughts from Izzo and Beilein following the game. Someone needs to put Izzo on suicide watch.

Korie Lucious Suspended from Spartans for Remainder of the Year

Mlive.com - Michigan State announced late Tuesday night that guard Korie Lucious has been dismissed from the team for the remainder of the season. "Unfortunately, Korie Lucious displayed conduct detrimental to the program,” Spartans coach Tom Izzo said in statement. “My focus is on this team for the remainder of the season.” Lucious played in 18 games this season, averaging 6.5 points and 4.1 assists in 24.4 minutes.

“I didn’t live up to the standards of the program,” Lucious, a junior, said in a statement released by the school. “Unfortunately, I let my teammates, my coaches and myself down, and wish the best for the rest of the season.”

MSU is always so hush hush with all these suspensions. For once i'd just like to hear outright that Korie knocked up the university president's daughter or snorted a line of coke of a midget's ass like Jeff Smoker. The truth will set you free Sparty.

BJ Cunningham Out For Capital One Bowl

MSU suffered a pretty significant blow this week when BJ Cunningham broke his foot in practice and as a result will miss the upcoming bowl game. This is terrible news for an MSU team that in my opinion will have their hands completely full with a pissed off Alabama team that feels like they should've repeated. I always root for The Big "We Suck At Naming Our Newly Formed Divisions" 10 during the bowl season but I don't know if I'd hate to see State get stomped here cause the slappys have been out in full force screaming about how they got jacked out of a BCS bid. Truth be told they lost their shot after getting spanked by Iowa who then eventually tanked there last three games against Northwestern, OSU, and Minnesota. Combine that with the fact Wisconsin was putting up scores that would make their basketball team jealous and State was destined to be left out in the cold. That being said I still think this is one of the most intriguing bowl games this year.

Things Heat Up As UofM and MSU Prepare For The Big Chill

I usually don't get that fired up over sporting events being played in random venues but the Big Chill has to be the coolest one they've done yet. 110,000 plus at a hockey game is just bonkers. Really wish I was back in A2 sandwiched between these two with a cup of Irish coffee for this one. Here's a little game preview from the worst reporter since the "boom goes the dynamite" guy. Is this Tony from California Dreams?

Hide Your Kids, Hide Your Wife, & Hide Your Husband, Cause Iowa Rapin' Everybody Up In Here

Watching MSU's national title hopes go up in smoke is a great treat in addition to the 75 Reese's peanut butter cups i've eaten today. Happy Halloween everyone, what are you going as? State went as a national title hopeful.

PS - C. L. Rucker came into the game at the 8:20 mark in the second quarter, about the same time as Iowa's third string running back started getting mop up duty.

Is C.L. Rucker Really Gonna Get Off With A Slap On The Wrist After His Boozed Up Hit and Run?

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State senior cornerback Chris L. Rucker was charged early Sunday morning for operating while intoxicated. According to a ticket released by East Lansing police, Rucker was stopped at 2:19 a.m. on the 300 block of Grove Street in a 2002 Oldsmobile near a 7-11 store. He had a blood-alcohol level of .10. The ticket also said that Rucker, who turned 22 on Tuesday, received a warning for leaving the scene of a property damage accident. On the ticket, the boxes “damage to property” and “traffic crash” were checked by an officer. Rucker was one of 11 players suspended for last season’s Alamo Bowl for his involvement in an altercation at Rather Hall in November. He was one of 11 who faced misdemeanor charges. He pleaded guilty to one count of assault and battery in February and was sentenced to 12 months of probation and 150 hours of community service. MSU coach Mark Dantonio reinstated Rucker — along with three other players who pleaded guilty — at the beginning of spring practice. A fifth player who pleaded guilty was allowed back on the team after spring drills started.

A probation officer at East Lansing’s 54-B District Court could not be reached today to say whether the charge violated his probation. His OWI charge is a misdemeanor. Dantonio announced Sunday night that he had suspended Rucker for a violation of team rules, but did not specify the violation. Associate athletics director John Lewandowski said this evening that Dantonio’s statement about the length of Rucker’s suspension, which will last at least one game, remained the same. Rucker is expected to be arraigned by Oct. 20.

How is it that C.L. Rucker is only getting a 1 game suspension after a hit and run while he was drunk? Guy's already on probation for his part in the post Alamo Bowl brawl last year and now he goes pinballin his car down the street and you're gonna suspend him one game!? Dude should be in jail. If this was a Michigan player and Rich handed out a 1 game suspension people would be picketing outside of Schembechler Hall screaming for his job. But Dantonio does it and you don't hear a single person bringing it up. Well I'm brining it up. It sucks having to hold ourselves to a moral standard that is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain in today's world while the rest of the competition is rolling with Bloods and Crips in their secondary. There should be an preset consequence across the board for all D1 teams when it comes to things like DUI, assault, or domestic abuse. That way we don't have the Cowardly Lion and Sweater Vest handing out 1 game suspensions to their players, while UofM sits their guys down for 4 games at a pop when they forget to hand in their homework on time.

It Ain't All Roses In East Lansing

Freep -- Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio announced this evening that starting cornerback Chris L. Rucker would be suspended for at least one game for a violation of team rules. Dantonio did not specify the nature of the violation but said that Rucker will be out for the Illinois game Saturday at Spartan Stadium. He did not say when Rucker will return to the team. “Well, we’ll see,” Dantonio said when asked whether Rucker’s suspension will last just one game. True freshman Darqueze Dennard will start in Rucker’s place Saturday. Dantonio opened his news conference by discussing the No. 13 Spartans’ 34-17 win over Michigan, then mentioned, in response to a question about increased national attention, that the team needs to “move forward.” “You can’t get complacent, and we’ll handle ourselves,” Dantonio said. “It’s maturity. With that said, I might as well tell you now that we’re going to suspend Chris L. Rucker for violating team rules, so he’ll be out next week. Lesson learned.” When asked what will be missed in Rucker’s absence, Dantonio simply said, “We’ll miss a corner.” Rucker, a senior, has 40 tackles, four pass breakups and one forced fumble in six games, and he recorded his first interception of the season in the U-M game.

Sounds like C.L. Rucker was lamborghini living after that big win in Ann Arbor this weekend. Was probably out at Rick's and rap videoing chicks with shark bowls.

Should We Spit or Swallow?

This blows, literally. To make it worse Alabama is about to lose which means Ohio State will probably move up to #1. Totallyfuckinbelievable.

Roundtree Just Got Bailed Out

How do you drop that pass? Jesus, make plays. Dude was already reaching for the sharpie in his sock before he caught the ball. Luckily we still punched it in. Nice drive.

Besides that one huge run, I'm pleasantly surprised with the D thus far. Am I nuts?
