Hunger Strike Is Probably My Favorite Song Of All Time
The Lady Friend and I were supposed to go with JustBatey on a double date to Pearl Jam at the Garden last Friday. She ended up getting really sick so I pretty much came to the realization that I wouldn't be able to go. But being the champ that she is, she demanded I still go cause in her words, "Eddie kicks too much ass for you not to go". With that ringing endorsement, I went as the drunk, wobbly third wheel. And sure as shit PJ didn't disappoint. Highlight of the night for me was definitely when "Band of Horses" lead singer, Ben Bridwell, came out and assisted Eddie with Hunger Strike. Shit was dope.
PS - Poor ass kid in front of us was at the concert with his girlfriend and both of their moms. One of them had this really sweet 1960's "make love not war" hands above the head shimmy that she kept doing. Started to make me tingly halfway through the first set. I was about two seconds away from leaning forward and making out with her during Nothingman. At least I managed to get an AOL shot of the cougars even though it was dark as shit in there.
PS - Take a look at Ben Bridwell falling into Eddie's arms like a "make a wish kid" as he finishes this song. If you listen close you can hear Eddie say "that took guts" before Ben says "Pearl Jam is the best band". No truer statements have ever been uttered.
