Robbie Sims To Detroit?
Citing league sources, NFL.com reported Thursday that Sims, a restricted free agent, signed his one-year, $1.101-million tender early this week. That means, according to the league's Web site, that "Sims very likely will be dealt before this month's draft." NFL.com reported the Lions were "strongly considering" a trade and that they were "strongly in the mix" to trade for Sims, as were Chicago and Philadelphia. Although the Lions are in desperate need of help at left guard, Sims is considered to have the flexibility to play on either side. According to ESPN, he and Lions linebacker Ernie Sims are brothers who have different mothers.
Whoa, wait a second. Did they just say Rob and Ernie are brothers who have different mothers? Just slipping it in like no one would notice. That is crazy. I liked the idea of bringing him in to help Backus with the left side and now that I know he has a little bit of Ernie Sims crackhead gene in him I like it even more. Send them a 6'th rounder and make this happen. Only real downside is dude is a former Buckeye.
