It's a Win-Win Weekend... Win.

Saturday: Tigers W 4-2, (4-1 overall, 2-0 v Indians)
Sunday: Tigers W 9-8, (5-1 overall, 3-0 v Indians)

Holy Crap. Did you see the Tigers this weekend? What a couple of games!

Saturday: Bondo makes comeback start. I heard he was watching Michael Jackson's this is it, you know, to get himself fired up by watching a master of showmanship and the dude delivered. He dominated the first 11 batters (so much so that I ran to my computer and picked him up before anyone else... I need a third basemen fellas). He struggled a little bit after that, but regained his composure and you could see the guy actually pitching, instead of just trying to strong arm the hitters. His velocity is creeping back, around 92 mph most of the day, but regardless, if Bondo can hold his bionic arm together for the rest of the season, it looks like we have a legit 4th starter and a strong enough pitching staff to get us through the season. Perry also dominated out of the bullpen (yep, he's on my fantasy team too) picking up his first career save and blowing batters away with 98 mph stuff. "Perry's always amped up for everything," Avila said. "I knew he was going to be throwing hard."

Sunday: Now, this shit here Tigers, this shit here, this is the shit. Tigers as usual, let their opponent jump out to an early lead (I'm not ready to call out Verlander just yet, although 2 no decisions and a grandslam in the 1st inning?.... Against the Indians?....) and left about 120 people on base ( 18 actually. And I think we're about 1 for 13 with the bases loaded this season, which is stupid). But they found a way. Down 5-1 after the 5th and after trading runs int he 6th and 7th, the Tigers got two back in the 8th, but left the bases loaded again, and we're down 8-6. Fast forward to the bottom of the ninth. Rayburn grounds out. Mags singles (he went 2-5 and is batting .462). Cabrera walks (he got on base in all 6 plate appearances... dude is a monster batting .522). Guillen smacks a double, Mags scores. Guys on second and third, 8-7. Inge comes up and grounds out, but I heard it was an absolute shot. Now the fucking heat is on! 2 outs! Santiago at bat. They walk Santiago! Idiots! Bases loaded, bottom of the 9th, 2 outs. Gerald Laird up.... But wait, that crafty fox Leyland pinch hits Johnny Damon. He could have pinched hit for Santiago, but he waited, just in case this happened. Damon walks on 5 pitches! Cabrera scores! We're all tied up! Then on the next pitch, with rookie Scott Sizemore at the plate (whom, out of those 13 bases loaded situations, probably has been up 4 times), Perez fires one into the dirt, which gets past the catcher and in walks Guillen. Tigers win!
Great weekend, a couple of great wins, and we're having our best start since 2006. Now if we can just find a way to HIT with the bases loaded and get the Twins to fucking take a dive (I think when they start playing outdoors in Minnesota in April, they'll start being a little more inconsistent) we can wrap this thing up by mid-May!

Next Up: Royals @ Detroit, Hochevar v. Scherzer, 1:05 ET
