Opening Day: Jhonny Peralta Bobble Heads Giveaway

Tigers W 5-2, (3-1 overall, 1-0 v. Indians)

Well, it's official. The Tigers have put together their first winning streak of 2010. And it's all thanks to Jhonny Peralta. Peralta bobbled a slow roller with the bases loaded and his throw to first only created more problems. Sizemore (after getting his first major league hit), Everett (after getting what felt like his second major league hit) and Jackson all scored on the error. Mags went 2-4 today, but it was really the defense that kept the Tigers afloat.

Porcello gave up 2 earned runs on 5 hits and 2 BB, including a home run to Travis Hafner. He took home the win but he better by Everett, Sizemore, and Cabrera steak dinners tonight because the trio turned 3 double plays today. Cabrera cooled down today, going 0-3 but did reach base on a walk. Coke, Zumaya, and Valverde pitched three scoreless innings as well to close out the game.

These guys better knock it off with the late inning heroics. Seems like the Tigers aren't getting fired up enough before games, because it takes them til at least the 5th inning to even show up offensively. I'm about to send Jimmy Leyland a Jock Jams CD if he can't handle it.
