Opening Day! Holy Crap!

Its better than Christmas. Better than The Fourth of July. Its even better than the day they announced they were coming out with a new Indiana Jones movie which turned out to be the biggest piece of crap ever. It's OPENING DAY! The Tigers are back! Younger, faster, more bearded. Tigers v Royals. Verlander vs Greinke. Carlos Guillen v. His old, broke down body. All the classic match ups are back for 162 games of fun (no there will not be 163 games this year). We have some tough competition in the AL Central, but you know what, we will overcome. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes or A-Rod from a steroids scandal, we will get ours. We have a stronger bullpen, Magglio is going to let those Sampson locks do some damage this year, and I have been systematically eliminating the AL Central's biggest impact players from our competitors. ( Joe Nathan, you're lucky I didn't put you in a box by the way.)

Ive also taken this opportunity to put out the JBS.com opening day pick 'em. Take these to the bank, put all your milk bones on these picks, whatever you want, but these are the winners.

AL Central Detroit, Minnesota, Chicago, Kansas City, Cleveland
AL East Boston, New York*, Toronto, Tampa Bay
AL West Seattle, Los Angeles, Texas, Oakland

NL Central St. Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cincinatti, Houston, Pittsburgh
NL East Philadelphia, Atlanta*, New York, Washington, Florida
NL West San Francisco, Los Angeles, Colorado, Arizona, San Diego

World Series: Detroit v. Philly

World Series Champs: DETROIT TIGERS!

First up: Tigers @ KC, 4:10 ET, MLB.TV

  1. While Todd Jones is irreplaceable and his style and charisma will never be matched, I enjoyed seeing Valverde, looks like he is just nutty enough and struggles the same way to finish out a 4 run lead that would only make Todd Jones proud. Good win today.
