Ben G. Gets Tossed, Stones Get Trounced
VS
Well, in case you forgot due to some sporting event called the Olympics, the Pistons have resumed their losing ways. Last night they took on the Magic and secured their first regular season series lost to those pussies from Orlando since 98/99. Dwight Howard dominated with 33 points and Vince Carter continued his resurgent shooting with 20 of his own.
If there’s a silver lining, though, its that Ben Gordon and Rip Hamilton seemed to playing as hard as possible. I mean, Rip still managed to drop a game high 36 while the team was busy getting pasted by 25. Gordon, frustrated by somebody else scoring decided to focus more on the defensive side of things, allowing JJ Redick to get under his skin and draw two technical fouls and an ejection. That’s the type of effort I would expect out of a 19-34 cellar dweller. Wait, we’re in fourth? Whatever.
As for the Austin Daye redshirt watch, looks like the coaching staff is considering burning it after all. Daye dropped 9 points in 12 minutes against the T-wolves the other night and had an efficient two minute cameo against the magic. Daye managed no points on two shots, but he did pull down a big defensive rebound!
