3-D, Really?

The Detroit Lions have signed running back DeDe Dorsey, according to multiple media reports. Dorsey, 25, has played 29 career NFL games. He played 13 as a rookie with the Colts in 2006, then spent parts of the past three seasons with the Bengals. Much of his time was spent on special teams, however. He has just 26 career NFL rushes for 191 yards (7.3 average). He was cut after Week 1 in 2009. This past season, he played for the Las Vegas Locomotives in the upstart United Football League. He was named MVP of the UFL championship game after rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns in a 20-17 overtime victory over the Florida Tuskers.

Good to see the Lions are making moves this off-season. Instead of just sitting back and letting other teams go out and sign up all players with any ability, like say Chester Taylor, they are getting proactive and jumping all over studs with sweet nicknames like 3D - DeDe Dorsey.

The UFL championship game MVP, 3D is definitely the guy who can help the Lions stop drowning in a sea of ineptitude at the running back position created by the departure of Barry following his 1,500 yd 1998 season.

Since then we have seen the sideshow culture grow into a full fledged 3-ring Barnum and Bailey production at the RB position. Starring Kevin Smith, Maurice Morris, Aveion Cason, Rudi Johnson, Tatum Bell, Brian Calhoun, TJ Duckett, Kevin Jones, Arlen Harris, Shawn Bryson, Artose Pinner, Olandis Gary, James Stewart, Lamont Warren, Reuben Droughns, Ron Rivers, Sedrick Irvin and now the one and only DeDe Dorsey.

Here are a couple clips to keep you wet until next years opening day

PS - So, I've done some research into the UFL after hearing about DeDe and this shit is the worst. 14,000 people at the championship game? Yeah right, I think I counted maybe six in the corner of the end zone. If the Lions are pulling guys from this league they might be interested in a couple of my old buddies from the Menominee Maroons Football Dynasty that are still floating around playing for the Timberjacks.

This is the most dynamic touchdown scored at Ford Field since it opened. You see that single wing, double hand off. Shit is awesome.

PSS - I just noticed Teddy Lehman was the leading tackler in the league with 43.5
