Cornelia Marie Captain Sails Last Voyage
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- A spokesman for The Discovery Channel says the captain of the "Deadliest Catch" fishing vessel Cornelia Marie has died. Capt. Phil Harris suffered what his family described as a massive stroke on Jan. 29 while the boat was in port at St. Paul Island, Alaska. He was flown to Anchorage for surgery.
Man, I got up this morning just ready to be funny and make it happen for the people. But the first thing I saw was that our beloved Phil Harris, Captain of the Cornelia Marie has finally succumbed to a massive stroke that he suffered just over a week ago. I guess you can't say I'm surprised by the news cause his life was basically a death cocktail filled with 40 foot seas, family feuds, and a train of cigarette smoke ripping through his body. But he was pretty much a straight badass that kicked life's ass until it kicked his. And I respect that a lot. As sad as this is, you gotta think that Discovery Channel is probably loving this. It draws more attention to their show which is already the best reality show on tv and with the intrigue created by Phil's sons Jake and Josh taking over as Captains of the Cornelia Marie, the next season becomes must watch TV. Plus you still got those crackheads from the Time Bandit which are really what make the show tick. I'm in.
Good Night Sweet Prince...
