Is Anyone Less Impressed With Michigan's Last Two Wins More Than Me?
I don't think beating Illinois 67-65 was what Big Blue had in mind when they brought in Rich Rod to renovate the most storied program in college football. I understand that putting up 67 against anyone is impressive but doing it against MSU, Penn State, or OSU is alot different than going blow for blow with Illinois. And what I really don't understand is how you put up 67 one week and then only manage 27 the next. Elite offenses should hit back to back against week opponents. This inconsistency is a big problem.
But looking at the big picture, the win over the Illini made Michigan bowl eligible for the first time in three years. Yippee!!! I hope you caught my sarcasms there. With our lame resume we'll most likely end up as the last Big Ten to get invited to a bowl and will probably get stuck in-state eating Little Ceasars at Ford Field Illitch Bowl. That's a far cry from the days when a date in Pasadena on New Year's Day was par for the course.
The Rich Rod suicide watch starts this Saturday when he faces Wisco who just hung 83 on Indiana. Our D has roughly the same amount of talent as Indiana so by my math that means we're gonna have to score 84 to win.
