Lions Add Another Cornerback, Jonathan Wade
The Detroit Lions acquired two cornerbacks today. They finalized a trade for Atlanta’s Chris Houston and signed Jonathan Wade to a one-year deal. Wade, 25, spent the past three years with the Rams, who drafted him in the third round in 2007, when Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan was their head coach. He is listed at 5-10, 198. He has played all but one game in his three seasons, with six starts and two picks. The Rams did not make him a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent.
This move reeks of Marinelli and I'm not taking a whiff. Can we stop bringing in dudes just cause you used to coach them and they know your favorite flavor of ice cream? Vanden Bosch coming to Detroit after playing for Schwartz in Tennessee = good thing. Johnny Wade coming to Detroit after playing 3 years of touch football in St. Louis = no fuckin thank you. Should fit in nicely though, look at that tackling form.

Is DB the new WR in the D?
ReplyDeleteRemember Chris Carr brought in from Tennessee to play nickel last year. Same damn thing. If this guy plays anything like he looks, we got another fischer/mcquarters on our hands. Can't wait.
