Lions Shouldn't Be In The Business Of Guaranteeing Victories

Nate Burleson guaranteed a victory over the Bears on his radio show this week, before he knew the Lions would be without quarterback Shaun Hill. On Wednesday, with Hill out and third-stringer Drew Stanton in as starter, Burleson didn't back down from his prediction. "Yeah, I said we will win on Sunday," Burleson said. "We only got five games left, and my goal is to finish the season 7-9. Like I've been saying all year, we don't have a team on the schedule that we can't beat." The Lions nearly beat the Bears earlier this year, but quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a separated right shoulder in the first half, and officials ruled Calvin Johnson didn't complete the process on a would-be winning touchdown catch.

How out of touch with reality are the Lions? Seriously, how do you go about guaranteeing victories over the division leader after going 5-46 in the last 51 games. Yeah, that stat is real.
