The Detroit Lions placed kicker Jason Hanson on injured reserve today, ending his season. Hanson has been out with a right knee injury since Nov. 7, when Jets defensive lineman Trevor Pryce ran into his kicking leg on a field-goal attempt. Former Michigan State and Oxford star Dave Rayner has kicked for the Lions the last three weeks. Hanson was having one of the best seasons of his 19-year career before the injury. He made 12 of 14 field-goal attempts, including seven of 47 yards or longer.
I seriously thought Hanson took a dive in that Jets game to get the call. Actually I still think he did, but just realized like Stafford that it's way easier to not play and still get paid.
