"Orange Hat Guy" Dies at Age 63
If you go Red Wings games, you knew "Orange Hat Guy." Toward the end of each Wings game Kenneth Rucker, the "Orange Hat Guy," was featured on the video screen at Joe Louis Arena, waving to the crowd and drawing a warm, hearty cheer. Mr. Rucker, a season-ticket holder at Red Wings games since 1972, died last weekend. He was 63. Funeral arrangements are unknown.
I love the Wings, God I love the Wings. They're the only major sports franchise that would still honor a season ticket holder who rocked a blaze orange hunting hat for 38 years. They've even upholstered his regular seat orange and will leave it vacant in his honor.
PS - Is Kenneth really an African American hockey fan? Shit, see something crazy everyday.
