Lions Make One Too Many Mistakes Against The Giants
Not gonna go into a ton of detail about the game. The Lions just made too many key mistakes and it cost them what could've been their first road win in 24 tries. Cliff Avril got a stupid unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that turned a field goal try into 7 eventual points and Nate Burleson fumbling the ball as we were driving to potentially tie the game pretty much summed up this season in a nut shell. And just when I thought there was no hope, the Lions D made a stop and Drew Stanton took use down the field only to throw a pick that went through Pettigrew's hands. It's truly amazing how many things can go wrong this consistently.
Some notes from our trip to the Meadowlands:
-As a stadium the New Meadowlands was underwhelming. From the outside it looks like an airport and because they have to share it with the Jets it lacks any real character on the inside. Our seats were sweet though and four huge Jumbotrons, one in each corner, made sure that nobody missed the replay of Nate Burleson fumbling the game away.
-Don't put your beer down anywhere near Steve. He will kick it over and if you open a new one he'll kick that one over too.
-Our buddy showed up wearing a Rod "God" Woodson jersey. Easily the best jersey you can be wearing at a Lions/Giants game if you don't give a fuck.
-Running outta quarterbacks on this team. Will be nice to get Stafford back after the bye though, I just really hope he doesn't end up turning into the guy on the right.
-I know I was talking a lot of shit at the game but can't really remember one thing that I actually said. I know for a fact I got really obnoxious when Calvin started celebrating at the 50.
