Lions Being Coy About Calvin's Injury
Bleacher Report: According to the Detroit News, Calvin Johnson said he wouldn't have been able to return to the game against the Rams on Sunday had it been close because of his shoulder injury. However, people were talking about the injury as if it were nothing more than a bruise and not something that would keep him out an extended period of time. Johnson said he would not need an x-ray. That's good news for Shaun Hill, who can't afford to lose his biggest target.
When this happened it had broken collar bone written all over it. I was cursing us for thinking we could win and get away with it, I was cursing Schwartz for having him in there, and I was cursing Calvin for seemingly always putting himself in awkward positions as he hits the ground. For a split second I even had a flash forward where Calvin turned into Charles Rogers and started blowin 'er day. Luckily, it seems relatively minor despite The Schwartz saying today in his presser that Calvin wouldn't have practice had they had it today. I hope he's back this Sunday cause I'm headed to the New Meadowlands to watch them battle the Giants this weekend. No Stafford and no Calvin means no chance.
