T.G.I.F.F.
Thank God it's Follett Friday. This first week back after break was brutal. I'm draggin real hard cause I'm still on mountain time and there's 4 feet of snow in New York so my New Balances aren't really cuttin it. Plus I got this new fiance that is so damn excited to be engaged that she is wearing me out. Man, real life is rough. At least I have this parallel universe I've created for myself where I get to make fun of people and hit on the girlfriends of famous people for the entertainment of others.
But enough about me, let's actually cover some Follet news on this fine Follett Friday. The Detroit News ran a little story the other day about Zack's recovery after his Oct. 18th hit on Jason Pierre Paul. Here is what Zack had to say...
“I am just in my second year, so I know I still have a lot to go. But if my body tells me something else, then, you know, I still want to walk and enjoy life. I know football isn’t life, but it’s what I love to do.”
In a nut shell the article basically said the damage to the disk in his neck will always bring with it the possibility of a more life threatening injury down the road. For a guy who makes his living as a wrecking ball, this is cause for major concern. It's ironic and extremely unfortunate that the type of hits that got Follett into the league may be the very same ones that could keep him out. As always our best wishes are with him as he makes his recovery over the upcoming months.
PS - Someone should tell the ass hats over at the Detroit News that they continually misspell Follett's first name in every article. It's spelt with a K, not a H. I'll be looking for that correction care of joeyblueskies.com any day now.
