Delmas & Cousin Involved in Road Rage Incident

ALLEN PARK – Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas and a gun belonging to him were involved in a road rage incident two weeks ago, according to the Canton Police Department. Delmas is not expected to be charged with any crime. According to Gajeski, on Dec. 21, Delmas was a passenger in a car with Ravelle Sadler, a 20-year-old Cincinnati resident. Sadler allegedly waved a gun at another vehicle in a road rage incident at about 2:15 a.m. and, after a 911 call, police pulled over the silver Nissan pickup that Sadler and Delmas were in. The police asked if there was a gun in the vehicle and Delmas said there was and police retrieved it.

The gun is owned by Delmas, who has a Florida concealed pistol license. While Delmas is not being charged, Sadler was bound over on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon (a four-year felony per charge), a felony firearms charge (two-year felony) and a charge of carrying a concealed weapon (a five-year felony charge). Sadler’s next court date is Jan. 18 in Third Circuit Court in Detroit. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz was asked about the incident at his season-ending press conference on Monday. “We don’t have any comment,” Schwartz said. “We are aware of it. I’ve spoken to Louis Delmas about it and we won’t have any comment on it, but we are aware of it.”

Of course Delmas has a gun, he plays in Detroit. In fact the Lions are the one team in the league that allows it's players to carry a concelled firearm as part of their uniform on Sunday. I'm pretty sure they issue you one the first day you report to training camp in Allen Park.
