I know everyone is waiting for my life altering Westminster Kennel Club post so here it is...
Last night was the second and final day of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show which is essentially the Super Bowl for dogs. Except that it's an individual sport, so maybe it's actually more like the Tour de France. But the dogs aren't all doped up so maybe... you know what? Nevermind.
Anygay, I love dogs. No big secret. I know everything there is to know about any breed you wanna throw at me. Did you know the Rhodesian Ridgeback was originally bred to hunt lions in Africa, the Bulldog got it's name because of it's participation in the sport of bull baiting, and the Basenji is the world's only barkless dog? Cause I did. Most of this knowledge was obtained because I went to the library as a kid to check out the 800 page American Kennel Club book every other week and slept with that shit in my bed. Don't ask me why, but if the Westminster people were ever in a pinch there is no doubt that I could still step in today and judge almost any breed there is. And to tell you the truth I think they need my services cause look at this hippy Greyhound they gave the trophy to this year.
PS - Save your comments. I know this thing isn't a Greyhound. Her name is Foxcliffe Hickory Wind and she's a Scottish Deerhound.
PSS - When did JoeyBlueSkies become an issue of Dog or Cat Fancy?
PSSS - If you want real play-by-play of Westminster get in touch with Blueskier Dan cause he was there last night and I'm sure the Garden was as electric as when I saw Pearl Jam play there.
