Suh Goes Under The Knife
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will undergo shoulder surgery Monday and miss the Pro Bowl, general manager Martin Mayhew said today. Mayhew made the announcement today while meeting with reporters, but he would not give any further details. Suh still plans to attend the NFL’s All-Star Game on Jan. 30 in Honolulu. “It came down to making a decision to play in the Pro Bowl or to have surgery as soon as possible and begin rehab in order to help my team next year achieve our goals of getting into the playoffs and competing for a championship. The organization and I opted to have the surgery now and not wait. I will always put my team first.
Bad news for the NFL's inevitable rookie of the year, but just goes to show you that Suh puts winning above all other things and that bodes well for the future of the Detroit Lions. I know it's early but if he can stay generally healthy I see this guy having the impact of a Reggie White or Warren Sapp. His focus and drive almost outweigh his talent and physical gifts. Get well big boy and see you next year.
