Bumaya! Lions End Season On Hot Streak. Somebody Hit The Music!

The Lions did almost everything right on their way to a fourth straight win, with the exception of a fumble on the 1 inch line and a pick six to Jared Allen. Nate Burleson stepped up huge in Calvin's absence and fought for yardage every time he touched the ball. I thought his effort was noticeable and contagious.

Shaun Hill ended the game a very efficient 28-for-39 with 258 yards. He spread the ball around and used all the tools at his disposal. I credit Scott Linehan with some solid play calling the last few weeks. The offensive line also did a great job protecting Hill and the one sack they gave up came on a play when Raiola snapped the ball on the wrong count.

On the defensive side of the ball Suh and company harassed Webb all day and Spievey's 2nd interception of the year was a pleasant surprise. Coming off of a huge day on special teams last weekend, I thought Palmer played great in Peterson's absence and was in on a lot of tackles, coupled with his great day on special teams against the Dolphins, I'm actually excited about the prospect of having him back next year. Even Carpenter wasn't terrible out there. Delmas was his typical self and held down things on the back end as our group of no name corners managed to not get torched by a rookie QB. All in all, it was a great game and the Lions continued doing the little things that have won them four consecutive games for the first time since gas was a buck seventeen a gallon.

PS - Am I the only one that wants the Lions to keep Rayner over Hanson next year? Jason would need a rental car to get a ball 55 yards these days.
