The Stoughton police chief says a decorated patrolman deserted his patrol to meet a woman billed as “the world’s smallest porn star,” then lied about it all in an internal investigation prompted by his peers. Officer Richard P. Bennett, who just last month received a commendation for his work in a March murder case, has resigned rather than face disciplinary action, Police Chief Paul Shastany said. His resignation came 10 days after he made an on-duty, in-uniform visit during a graveyard shift to Club Alex’s Gentlemen’s Club, where 3-foot-9-inch adult-film star Bridget “The Midget” Powers was making a guest appearance.
Shastany said at least five officers alerted the administration of Bennett’s trip to the club. ”The culture is such in the organization that people want to do the right thing,” Shastany said. “There are officers here that came forward. There were many officers, just so you know, that felt that this was inappropriate. “This is an example of what works well when officers hold themselves accountable,” he said.
I can't believe what a bunch of pussies the Stoughton police department are. I don't understand how one of your brothers in blue goes out for a little midget loving during the long night shift and all of a sudden everyone starts flipping their shit and tattling to Chief Shastany.
