Grandy Picks His Up To Bat Song - Tigers Lose 6-3 to Yanks
I wouldn't hold your breath for a John Falls post about Tigers/Yankees opening day if I were you, so I'll give you the long and short of it. Verlander went 6 innings with 8 K's and had his stuff working well minus the Teixiera 3 run shot. The Yanks got him to throw a lot of pitches in the first inning which eventually was the reason he was pulled after only 6, leaving the door wide open for Granderson to yolk a hanging breaking ball that Phil Coke hand delivered on a silver platter. Thought the dude was supposed to be starter material? Anyway, the Yanks never really looked back from that point on.
Offensively the Tigers picked up right where they left off last year and stranded a shit ton of guys in scoring position. They're gonna have to get runs when they can if they wanna be a legit contender cause I don't think this rotation or bullpen are anywhere close to as good as people think.
Finally, our boy Inge got off to a great start with a 1:1 error to game ratio. 162 errors has such a nice ring to it.
