Zetterberg Out for Game 3 Tonight
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Henrik Zetterberg was on the ice for an hour with his Red Wings teammates Sunday, another encouraging sign as he recovers from a knee injury. Zetterberg won't play tonight in Game 3 against Phoenix and isn't close to returning. His injury, a second-degree medial collateral ligament sprain, generally takes three weeks to heal. Zetterberg was hurt April 6.
Zetterberg had a little scare Saturday when he first got on the ice and felt a twinge in his knee, but he returned to skate for 30 minutes. "It was nothing, he just came off, but sometimes when you've had an injury and you tweak it, then you're alarmed," coach Mike Babcock said. "But he practiced with our guys today. That's obviously a confidence builder, and we'll go from there."
I obviously want Hank back as soon as possible but with the way the Wings have dominated this series thus far it's way more important that he take his time and come back healthy when we start playing some worthy competition. I anticipate the Coyotes taking one of the next two games as they feed off their home crowd but it will be a futile attempt as the Wings should finish them off in game 5 back in Detroit.
