This isn't one of my kids from Brooklyn but I have no doubt that they would've answered the exact same way. Inner city kids just can't compete on standarized tests when you're dealing with this type of cultural bias. You grow up in Bed Stuy, you don't know what an animal pen is. You grow up in the U.P., you don't know what a bodega is. That's just the way shit is. The problem is only one of them is showing up on a state test. I'm just saying.
