Zdeno Chara breaks the neck of former Wolverine Max Pacioretty

This hit is as bad as they come in the NHL. It's no Claude Lemiuex on Kris Draper but it's in the same ballpark. As a player you always know that when you're near the benches the edge of the glass can come into play and for Chara to not lay off this hit is inexcusable. In the same breath you also gotta put a little bit of responsibility on Pacioretty for trying to go head first through a keyhole off the high dive cause he knew the glass was there too.

Should Chara be suspended? Maybe a game, but no more. To crucify him for this is the wrong thing to do. Chara's reputation is not that of a goon and even though there is history between these two teams it's nothing like that of the Wings/Avs, which was a literal blood feud back in the day. Hopefully Pacioretty has a full recovery and gets back to continuing the legacy of former Wolverines in the NHL.
