Kids These Days
TRAVERSE CITY -- Two teens who police believe shot a large cow with a bow and arrow face a felony charge. Kody M. Richardson, 17, and Jared R. Kaltenbach, 18, are accused of killing or torturing an animal. Neither had been arrested Thursday afternoon. Police said they were responsible for the early July 13 shooting death of a large Angus cow on Bob Boeve’s Hoch Road farm in Garfield Township. Investigators said Richardson fixed a flashlight beam on the animal while Kaltenbach aimed and shot with a compound bow. Police were tipped off after a friend of the pair told his mother, who called to report the incident. The friend wasn’t with Richardson and Kaltenbach during the incident, but Kaltenbach showed the friend the cow shortly after the shooting, according to police reports.
What ever happened to good ole fun like burning doobies behind the high school? I mean I consider myself to be on the cutting edge of what's cool and what sucks and I never saw this coming. How the hell am I supposed to know that cow hunting would be the next big thing? Shit, the closest we ever got to this was feeding seagulls Alka Seltzer after Pop Warner practice so that their stomachs would explode. But now the cool kids in school are going all Big Buck Hunter on grazing cows. Looks like I need to start chaperoning some middle school dances and get my finger on the pulse of America's youth. Just a heads up, if I don't drop an A.O.L. on you today it's because I'm out waiting in line for Justin Beiber tickets.
